National Small Power Boat Handling Course 1 & 2
The aim of this course is to give those with little or no experience in handling small powered boats an insight into the safe use of such craft and the equipment they must carry. As well as knowledge of the aspects of seamanship. navigation aids and weather which govern their use.

Get Into Small Boat Sailing Course - Basic Skills 1/2
This scheme is directed at dinghy sailing for boys and girls aged from 8 to 15 years of age. It involves a competency based training approach and is run on weekends.

Basic Skills I: a safe enjoyable introduction to sailing for novices.
Basic Skills II: extends knowledge from BS1 to allow competent sailing in light winds.
Students are taught in club owned fibreglass dinghies especially designed for training. These boats are 3 metres in length and accommodate 2 or 3 sailors.
All students must supply and wear a buoyancy vest while sailing.
At the completion of the Basic Sailing Skills course 1 & 2 the sailors will be ready to participate in the Better Sailing course to be conducted on Saturday mornings in February.

Adult Resuscitation Course
Learn the skills of EAR and CPR in a one evening course of four hours duration. Participants will receive a certificate on completion.
The course is available to members and non-members.
Adult Keelboat Crew Course
This course is a combination of theory and practical sessions and is designed to teach adults and youths the basic sailing skills necessary to enjoy keelboat crewing on the Swan River. The course covers sailing theory, deck work, weather, navigation, radio usage, racing and safety.
Theory sessions are held on evenings during the week and practical sessions on weekend mornings.
The course is available to members and non-members.
Small Boat Better Sailing Course
This course which is run over four Saturday mornings is an extension of our Get into Small Boat Sailing Course 1&2 and enhances the students skills and awareness of sailing. The course bridges the gap between learning the basics of sailing and sailing in races.
A pre requisite of this course is completion of the Get Into Small Boat Sailing Course 1&2.
Course is available to members and non-members.
