Vice Commodore Report (Nautical News November)

Hello Members

Although the Weather Gods have been a little fickle to say the least, the 2011/2012 Season is well and truly under way. With the AGM completed, the new Committees have been set and a few new faces are aboard the Executive and Sub Committee’s for the Season ahead.

House and Social led by Nancye Kelly have once again entertained 300 guests for the Melbourne Cup Luncheon.  A great afternoon was enjoyed by all.  Aside from the winning Punters, we drew prizes for guests including Best Hat, Best Ensemble and a few others. A big thankyou to ID Clothing, Bragbags, Kava Café, Mantra on Murray & Luce de Soul for the kind donations of prizes.

Our new kitchen is up and running thanks to the great effort from Mike Slade and his Committee. Producing 300 meals including Entrée, Main and Deserts is no easy feat,  Chef Jason and his crew made it look easy. The new kitchen along with the rapidly progressing new rest rooms in the function area will lift the standard of professionalism we can offer to  our Member’s for your next function.

After a great event last year, the 2011 Rumble in the Reach on January the 14th will no doubt be another exciting event. The Sports Boat event is full of excitement and what better place to view it can you get than the Commodores Bar or Deck Café. This year we will once again have an extended menu and music for you to enjoy. Keep an eye out for timing and make sure you are there.
