Flying Ant Report (Nautical News November)

Summer sailing for the Flying Ants at EFYC is well underway with training sessions being held on the Saturday morning prior to club races.  I would like to thank our coaches Ryan Hudson, Aimee Negri and Jasper Warren for their skills and assistance in preparing our Flying Ant sailors for the summer season.

The Indian Ocean Regatta was held at Fremantle Sailing Club on the last weekend in October and was attended by 5 Flying Ants from EFYC.  With a total of 9 Flying Ants participating in this event the competition was strong and the weather kind.  Congratulations to EFYC boats Lightning Jack and Hard Yakka who took out 1st and 2nd place respectively.

The FA State Selections will be held on the weekend 26th/27th November at The Cruising Yacht Club and again promises to be an enjoyable and competitive regatta.  This event provides a great opportunity for our Flying Ant sailors to experience sailing in a larger fleet and meet other Flying Ant sailors in Perth.

The FA Nationals will be held from Dec 27th to Jan 3rd at Toronto, NSW.  EFYC has five (5) Flying Ants attending this 45th Flying Ant National Championship.  I would like to wish all sailors that are attending National and State Championships over the summer season good luck and safe travel.
