Sabre: A 3.8m long, single handed dinghy sailed by sailors from their early teens and up to their 90’s. Performance suits the average sailor rather than the super athletic skipper and at an affordable price. For further information contact the EFYC Sabre Rep Louis Suriano at Boating Hardware or the Sabre Sailing Association website at http://www.sabre.org.au
Sailors who prefer this Class are usually between 15 and 96 years old. EFYC currently has a fleet of more than 25 Sabres and is still growing. There were 130 boats at the 2013 Nationals and for next Nationals at Perth Dinghy Sailing Club, we already have over 90 boats nominated and expect a very large fleet.
The Club currently has between 8 and 12 boats training on Wednesday afternoon and we have good support for social events such as our Annual Sail To Rottnest, Walpole Regatta on the March Long weekend and Garden Island Picnic Sails and social time in the bar. We also spend lots of time supporting people to improve their sailing.
