5 classes of Centreboard dinghy are sailed at East Fremantle Yacht Club during the sailing season, which runs from late September to early April each year. The Centreboard Section runs an active racing programme every Saturday afternoon during the season and also participates in Winter Series races. Winter races are held every 2 or 3 weeks on Sunday afternoons in conjunction with the Keelboat Section. (View calendar)

The Section also provides a junior sail-training programme during the summer. (View training section)

Training programmes are also arranged on a class-by-class basis for the Pelican, Flying Ant and National 125 classes.

The Centreboard Section has a strong volunteer support group. Volunteers work on rescue boats, as well as in the Start Tower, on the Start Boat, in the Canteen and in coaching roles. Many of the parents of sailors in the junior classes are active volunteers. The Section supports inter-club, state level and national level sailing events for the various classes represented at the Club.

Each Centreboard class is represented on the Club’s Centreboard Committee by a Class Representative.
